New information has come to light pointing to serious corruption in the registration of voters in DA-led George ahead of by-elections scheduled to take place on Wednesday.

As long as they are carrying out their work illegally, they have the effective status of vigilante groups and run the risk of jeopardising criminal trials.

The DA has been caught with its pants down manipulating the voter’s roll. It is a desperate act; the ultimate crime of political contestation.

The GOOD Party welcomes the decision by the High Court to block the Eastern Cape Government from changing the type of municipality in Nelson Mandela Bay from an Executive Mayoral system to a Mayoral Committee system.

Let’s spin this question around.  Instead of asking if we can afford to have a Basic Income Grant, ask if we can afford not to have one. Can we afford to leave 8 million unemployed South Africans in a severe state of hunger, failing in our constitutional obligations and increasing the levels of anger and desperation in our society?

GOOD is hopeful that the R80,9 billion City of Joburg budget will start to resolve the long-standing issues of infrastructure decay across all service interfacing Municipal Owned Entities but disagrees that rate payers should suffer hefty increases to recoup from the major revenue losses.
