Residents of Fontein Street in Cloetesville have endured weeks of water damage. Homes are cracking, foundations are weakening, and boundary walls are collapsing due to underground water and poor drainage.
While municipal officials have visited and engaged, residents are still waiting for a clear plan and timeline to fix the problem. Responsibility debates between departments cannot delay urgent action.
I have formally requested a written update from the Municipal Manager on the cause of the water, responsibility for drainage, immediate steps to stop further damage, and long-term solutions with clear timeframes.
Fontein Street residents have been patient. Now they deserve answers and action. The GOOD Party will keep pushing until every affected family gets the help they need.
