The GOOD Party congratulates GOOD councillor Weldon Wells on his election as the Speaker of Theewaterskloof municipality and GOOD councillor Cynthia Clayton on her election (unopposed) as Deputy Mayor.
As Speaker, Wells will now call a meeting for the DA/GOOD/SRWP coalition to elect the DA’s candidate for Mayor.
GOOD is optimistic that the election of these key positions will bring the end to three months of instability in council.
The municipality can now proceed with prioritising critical governance functions.
The DA/GOOD/SRWP coalition recognises the importance of the well-being of our residents, fostering an environment where diverse voices are heard and respected.
Under this coalition, residents can look forward to improved service delivery and can be assured that the Municipality will avoid fruitless and wasteful expenditure, and appropriately allocate funds.
As GOOD we will continue to put the needs of residents first.
