GOOD Statement by Lloyd Phillips,
GOOD Councillor & Chair of Chairs in the City of Johannesburg
14 September 2023
The Good Party in Johannesburg notes the WhatsApp audio note circulating by someone who refers to himself as Bishop Robertson.
As GOOD, we would like to clarify that Robertson is not a member of the GOOD Party and holds no position in any of the party’s structures.
To our knowledge, as per the audio clip, Robertson is still a member of Al Jama-ah.
In the voice note, directed to residents of Eldorado Park and Klipspruit, Bishop Robertson claims to be working with GOOD and councillor, Lloyd Phillips, campaigning for the party in Ward 17.
Robertson further claims he received support from the party during his personal court matters.
As GOOD, we have not pledged support to Robertson on any matter related to his court appearances.
Robertson is not a member of GOOD and has no right to act as party spokesperson or claim to represent the party in any capacity.
Bishop Robertson has expressed his wish to become one of our members but has not completed any formal application process or resigned from Al Jama-ah.
Any person joining GOOD, does so purely on a voluntary basis and thereby agrees to abide by party policies and code of conduct.
GOOD does not promise positions or any material incentive for joining.
Any formal representatives of GOOD will be announced through our official communication platforms.
GOOD asks the community to disregard any communication that comes from unauthorised channels.
