The GOOD Party in Stellenbosch extends our warm wishes to Gesie van Deventer as she steps down as Mayor of Stellenbosch Municipality.
Last month, Alderman van Deventer, announced her resignation.
Her decision, rooted in personal reasons, reflects a desire to spend more quality time with her family and embrace retirement.
Under her leadership the Municipality received consistently clean audits from the Auditor General of South Africa.
Stellenbosch now faces the task of selecting a successor who can continue the progression of the council and the community.
GOOD remains committed to holding the soon-to-be-elected Mayor and the Mayoral Committee accountable for their leadership in guiding Stellenbosch towards a future rooted in justice and equal opportunities.
We underline the importance of a transparent, accountable government that prioritises inclusivity and fairness for all residents.
