The GOOD Party is pleased to welcome Bongani Sonqwenqwe as a councillor in the Overberg District.
Sonqwenqwe fills the vacancy that was created when Cynthia Clayton was transferred to the Theewaterskloof municipality.
Sonqwenqwe is a born leader with diverse experience and expertise in leadership and administrative roles.
He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from CPUT and is busy with his doctoral degree in Public Administration and Governance at the same institution.
Sonqwenqwe says ‘Empowering our community through open communication and inclusive decision-making is my top priority. Our community deserves a strong voice. I’m dedicated to ensuring everyone’s concerns are heard and valued. As PR Councillor, I’ll work tirelessly to connect our community, foster collaboration, and drive positive change.’
GOOD follows an open application process to fill its public representative vacancies – inviting all of its members to apply – and then a rigorous selection process which includes two distinct phases: a shortlisting process followed by an interview and assessment phase.
The integrity of our selection process is important to ensure that the most suitable councillors are selected from the vast pool of talent and skills.
GOOD remains steadfast in its pursuit of a fairer South Africa characterised by economic, spatial, environmental and social justice for all – including for all the people of the Overberg District.
