We are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of the DA’s Western Cape Parliamentary Chief Whip, the Honourable Lorraine Botha.
Hon. Botha served the legislature and the people of the Western Cape with great humility in her roles as Chairperson of the Standing Committees on Education, Social Development and the Premier and Constitutional Matters.
In May 2022 she was appointed Chief Whip of the DA’s Western Cape Caucus and have executed her duties in the House with great integrity.
The people have lost a servant leader who worked tirelessly for the Western Cape and her Bergrivier constituency.
We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the provincial leadership of the DA and throughout the nation. More so, we extend our condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the Hon. Lorraine Botha.
