The GOOD Party in George welcomes the handing over of a forensic report into the May 2024 Building Collapse to the police.
Today Western Cape Premier Alan Winde announced that he handed over the independent structural engineering findings to the Western Cape Police Commissioner Thembisile Patekile and the lead investigator Johan
de Lange.
It has been almost 9 months since the tragedy took 34 lives and seriously injured many others.
The collapse and the days that followed will forever be in our memory.
The painful loss of loved ones in such a horrific accident and the agonising wait for news on a missing person is something no person should ever have to endure.
This report is needed to not only hold those responsible accountable but also to prevent further incidents of this nature from occurring in the future.
As GOOD we call on the SAPS to urgently act on the findings of this report.
