GOOD Statement by Keagen Gertse,
GOOD Drakenstein Councillor & Caucus Whip
12 May 2025
The GOOD Party in Drakenstein extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Ward 27 Councillor, Vanessa Booysen, who sadly passed away on Saturday, 10 May 2025.
Councillor Booysen was widely known for her unwavering dedication and hard work in serving her community. She approached her responsibilities with great care and diligence, always putting the needs of her constituents first. Her fierce commitment to the elderly, youth, and vulnerable members of the Amstelhof community stands as a powerful testament to her compassionate leadership.
Her sudden passing has come as a profound shock, especially to those she served so selflessly, first as a community activist and later as an elected DA councillor. She leaves behind a legacy of service, strength, and humanity that will be remembered by fellow councillors, colleagues, and the community alike.
