GOOD strongly condemns the alleged abuse of power and manipulation of housing allocations by the DA administration in Drakenstein.
It is believed that certain individuals, including a private senior financial adviser, have received RDP houses despite not meeting eligibility criteria.
In a widely circulated voice recording, those involved can be heard discussing payments for placements on housing lists in the municipality, while photos of unfair housing handovers have been posted on social media.
This is completely unacceptable when many deserving families have been waiting for years for housing support, but have been left with empty promises.
Any misuse of resources undermines the integrity of the housing programme and highlights a troubling disregard for those who have been stuck on a list, waiting for homes.
We demand an immediate investigation into these allegations and call for a fair and transparent review of the housing allocation process.
GOOD is committed to ensuring that housing resources are distributed equitably and that all deserving individuals receive the support they need.
