Today, as we celebrate Women’s Month, GOOD Stellenbosch had the privilege of visiting and blessing the incredible women at Safe House.
They welcomed us with such warm and open arms, and the love and appreciation they showed us touched our hearts deeply. Their words of gratitude and the way they received our small gesture of love and kindness brought tears to our eyes. It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the simplest act of showing someone that they matter can mean more than we realise.
Today was not only about giving — it was also about listening, embracing, encouraging and reminding these beautiful women that they deserve to be loved, valued, celebrated and spoiled.
Every woman deserves to feel safe, valued, respected and appreciated. Behind every woman is a story of courage, strength and resilience, and today we honour each one of you for the journey you have walked and the strength you continue to show.
It was especially moving to hear the women acknowledge that they too deserve to be loved and spoiled. They deserve moments of joy. They deserve kindness without conditions. They deserve to feel special. They deserve to know that their lives have value and that their stories matter.
We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to every woman staff member at Safe House. Your dedication, compassion, kindness and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others do not go unnoticed.
The work you do requires a special heart — a heart that listens, cares, protects and restores hope. You open your doors to women who may arrive carrying pain, fear, uncertainty and brokenness, and you offer them a place where they can begin to find their strength again.
Thank you for being a light to those who need it most. Thank you for your patience, your kindness and your beautiful hearts. Thank you for creating a space where women can find support, dignity, compassion and safety.
Today, GOOD Stellenbosch did not simply visit Safe House. We shared a moment of humanity, love and sisterhood. We left with grateful hearts, knowing that the women we met touched our hearts just as much as we hoped to touch theirs.
May this Women’s Month remind every woman at Safe House — and every woman in our community — that you are precious. You are worthy. You are enough. You are deserving of love, respect, kindness and happiness.
Never forget that your past does not define your future. Your scars do not make you less beautiful. Your struggles do not diminish your worth.
You deserve to be loved.
You deserve to be celebrated.
You deserve to be spoiled.
And most importantly, you deserve to feel safe.
