DRAKENSTEIN MUNICIPALITY: RENTING OF STATE PROVIDED HOMES IS TRAVESTY

The GOOD Party is concerned that the country’s housing programme is being manipulated by some, whilst others remain desperate and homeless on the housing waiting list. In Drakenstein, residents who have been lucky enough to be recipients of title deeds have chosen to rather rent out their properties instead of making it their forever homes. This practice is unfair to the hundreds of thousands of people desperately waiting for their housing opportunity.

HOW CAPE TOWN’S “PRO-POOR” GOVERNMENT IS FAILING ITS PEOPLE

Revenue Law Amendment Bill: Two Pot Retirement Regime Is Sensible And Timeous

The amendments proposed to South Africa’s rigid retirement fund regime are sensible and timeous. They are sensible because it is non-sensical that South Africans, with skills and experience, in the labour force, resign from their employment in order to access a portion of their retirement funds in times of financial distress. It is timeous because South Africa is in an economic growth crisis, with high costs of living and high interest rates, which is causing severe financial distress.
