Business and GOOD leaders step in where the DA and ANC have failed: new private – political partnership works to fix blocked sewage systems.
Across the country, people are literally living in excrement. Blocked sewage pipes are not being fixed and this is forcing communities to live, for weeks or months, with sewage flowing in their streets, in their gardens and in their homes.
The business community of Nelson Mandela Bay have had enough of services not being provided equally to all communities. They are supporting GOOD’s Mayoral Candidate for Nelson Mandela Bay, Mr Laurence Troon, in launching a privately funded team of a dozen people to help deliver services to the residents of the Bay.
The twelve people will be funded for an initial pilot period of three months. They will be tasked with unblocking drains to help the residents of NMB live with dignity and in a healthier environment.
“We are all tired of bad leadership…and tired of coloured and black communities being left to live in the excrement of the people upstream of them” said Mr Troon.
“GOOD’s manifesto promises to achieve equal, affordable service delivery in all neighbourhoods. This is no empty promise, but a commitment to deliver and make real the Constitution of South Africa.”
The South African Constitution reminds us that our country belongs to ALL who live in it, that we have a duty to unite and heal the racial divisions of the past so that we can build a society based on democratic values and social justice; where each person is equally protected.
“The Constitution requires us to work to improve the quality of life of ALL citizens. GOOD is delivering on that promise today” said Troon.
