The GOOD Party is shocked to have learnt through the media that the Bergrivier Mayor, Ray van Rooy has been taken in for questioning by police.
According to the Daily Voice ‘an intelligence-driven raid in Piketberg saw the discovery of a substantial amount of cocaine and illegal ammunition at the residence of the executive mayor.’
As GOOD, we will be writing to the Speaker’s office to request an urgent Special Council sitting, where we will bring a motion of no confidence in the Mayor.
We urge the DA majority in council not to protect their Mayor.
As GOOD we will be monitoring the developments of this case closely.
