Statement by Patricia de Lille, leader of GOOD.
We are happy to report that growth of GOOD is accelerating. In response to our call last year for GOOD South Africans to come together and work for the common good of our diverse country, we are witnessing new GOOD party branches being launched almost daily across the country.
Although my Ministerial role is very challenging, I continue to do constituency work during the week or on weekends also. South Africans everywhere are tired of corruption and old-style politics and at GOOD, we are defeating both.
In the by elections we are contesting at the moment, the members of branches have elected their own representatives. We are replacing old-style systems of Ward Councillors being appointed by secret internal leadership structures. South Africa deserves a system of more direct democracy, where our citizens can directly elect leaders of their own choice.
